wooden garage. We also solve a simple garage or double garage and forget about the garage door. However, garage doors form a significant part of the garage and are very visible, so we should not neglect their choice.
Types of garage doors
Steel garage door
The garage, which is equipped with steel gates, will be almost impregnable. Steel is therefore an excellent choice. Steel lamellas are mounted on an aluminum structure and are very durable. In addition, steel gates can be painted with any paint, spray or foil to perfectly adapt to the appearance of the garage, but also to the surrounding area.
Aluminum garage door
Aluminum garage doors have the undisputed advantage that aluminum slats have a low weight and yet are very strong and durable. It can be considered as a disadvantage that although they are solid, the aluminum garage door can be dipped more easily than the steel garage door. Like aluminum doors, aluminum gates can be customized by surface treatment.
Fiberglass garage door
The fiberglass is among the composite materials. These are polymer-cured glass fibers. Fiberglass garage doors are characterized by high strength, durability, low weight and favorable price. The fiberglass lamellas are anchored in an aluminum frame and can be further coated with a coating or foil.
Wooden garage door
Wooden gates are timeless and fit not only to wooden garages, but also to concrete garages or fitted garages with plaster. However, wooden garage doors require regular maintenance and can be more costly.
Insulated or non-insulated garage door
Because the garage door occupies a significant area of the garage, it is preferable for the door to be insulated. Just like a garage. We will appreciate the insulated garage not only during the winter but also during the summer. If we choose a version of a heated garage, there will be thermal bridges without isolated garage doors. The heat bridge is the place where the heat from the interior to the exterior escapes. And this is undesirable from the point of view of economy.
