When the cold is over, the right man will start thinking about another heating season or rather more seasons. Because we need to look at long-term horizons in preparing good, well-dried firewood. If we do not get the timber in good time, we are reliant on heating with fresh or not enough wood, and it is very uneconomical.

 

 

The purchase price of fresh wood is lower than dry wood prices. But the extracted, fresh wood contains up to 50% moisture, which means that it produces many vapors and tar products in combustion and is less heat-resistant. Additionally, tar waste products smoke the chimney and parts of the fireplace, and steam reduces the resistance of the metal parts of the flue to corrosion.

 

In general, hardwood is stored longer than softwood. If we want to protect the wood from the rain, we cover it with a tarpaulin, but it is too short-sighted and inappropriate. Under the tarpaulin, molds and rotting processes start to emerge due to climate change. It follows that for the storage of fresh wood it is also not suitable to have a closed cellar or garden house. It is better to have an open shelter or timber.

 

The storage of the wood in the wooden box ensures that the log is not directly on the ground but at a sufficient height above the surface. There is a roof above the logs, which is the ideal way to circulate the air around the wood. The shelters are very stable and are designed so that the dried wood does not shrink to the sides during shaking. Wood shelters are a whole lot and it is only on our taste and the choices we choose. The vendors offer wooden shelters, plastic shelters and tarpaulins or zinc sheets. Ideal is a shed with a shed where we can store and lock garden equipment and other tools.
