The floor in the garage is disintegrating and its renovation is necessary. Or, we are considering purchasing a new garage and solving what floor will last a permanent load. Many find it difficult to solve the floor with classic concrete. However, the options are more and often are materials that are more suitable for the garage floor than concrete.
Renovation of the old floor in the garage
If the concrete floor in the garage crumbles and cracks, there is no choice but to use a thick brush and a broom. Decomposed concrete needs to be removed. Ideal is to use a vacuum cleaner. On a completely clean surface, it is necessary to apply penetration and then adjust the surface with suitable material. However, the self-leveling spatula will not solve the problem for a long time.
New garage
Are you among those who have bought a new
garage? Finished garages are not exceptional on the Czech market. However, sheet
metal garages and many other types are supplied without floor. From the outset, it is therefore good to build a garage floor that is both mechanical and chemical resistant. From the garage floor, we expect it to be well maintained. Not only from puddles of snow, but also from fuels and oils.
What material to choose the garage floor
To keep the floor in the garage easy, it should be smooth and non-porous. Ideal materials include flooring with epoxy coating. Epoxy coating is often used in heavy duty areas. However, the coating requires a perfectly prepared substrate. The disadvantage of the epoxy coating is that it may be slippery in humid environments, and chemicals may form unsightly stains on it.
Different surfaces in the garage
Concrete spatula and epoxy paint are among the cheaper variants. The floor in the garage can also be tiled. It is advisable to make tiles that can withstand high mechanical stress and chemicals. The floor in the garage can also be fitted with rubber mats. PVC and interlocking paving seem unsuitable materials. PVC is very slippery and the pavement is too porous. Even with their long-term load, problems may appear.
Tip:
The best option seems to be to prepare perfectly matched concrete subsoil. Concrete concrete floors and provide durable tiles. Here, you can also get a special finish paint that removes the porosity of the porous tiles.
