Reinforced concrete is also called iron concrete. It is a composite material made of concrete and a steel or iron reinforcement which is embedded in the production so that it is stretched when the rat is deformed or loaded. Concrete has high compressive strength but very low tensile strength, therefore reinforced with steel.
