What is isolation?
Isolation is a way to separate the two components in such a way that both components do not mix with each other. The first insulating materials were furs of animals that protected them from cold. Today, sophisticated materials such as foam, polystyrene, polyester or glass wool are used. Each insulation material has its own specific properties and is used for something else. Typically, insulation is used to prevent heat, sounds or water from leaking. Apart from construction, however, this term is also used in other fields, such as medicine or evolutionary biology.
