HDI is the abbreviation of the English expression Human Development Index. In Czech it means the Human Development Index. Unlike more well-known GDP, it does not focus on the economy, but on other areas of human life. The three main factors of HDI are the material standard of living, the level of education and the level of health of the population. These factors seem to better reflect the national level, and HDI should become the successor of GDP in the near future.
