Single-layer chimney is a chimney whose wall is only one type of material. It must, however, exhibit such properties as to meet both flue gas and ambient requirements. Single-layer chimney is divided into vacuum and overpressure type. Single-layer chimneys are commonly used on roofs of apartment houses, family houses and wooden cottages . Some types are so easy to construct that their layout can be managed by a layman as well.
