The concept of a duplex is a multi-storey apartment located in an apartment building. These are, for example, two apartments connected by a staircase inside the apartment, connecting the last floor of the house with an attic, but also a planned extension in a new building.

There is also a disposition of an interconnected kitchen with a dining room, a living space on the first floor, a second bedroom and a bathroom. Maisonette apartments are very popular among young people, they are often inspired abroad.
