What is a building diary
Data on the progress of work on the site is recorded in the building log. The diary contains an original sheet and two copies. Pages are numbered, no vacancy can be omitted. Building a diary is a duty under Section 157 of Act no. 183/2006 Coll. (Building law). Construction log is to be done for buildings that are subject to building permits. For other constructions, only a simple construction record is required. The diary has to be kept from the beginning of the construction until the defects, the unfinished building have been removed and the building is properly handed over. The logbook records the work processes, their contexts, weather, deviations from the documentation approved by the building authority, and other essential information. The diary must be archived for ten years.
