The biomass boiler is a type of boiler that uses biomass as a fuel. It has many forms. These may be pieces of wood, pellets, chips or grains. This type of boiler is usually placed in a special technical room in the house, but there are also interior versions that can work in one of the common rooms, for example in the living room. Cheaper biomass boilers mostly produce heat from only one type of raw material, but more modern and more expensive types work with more types of fuel. As this is an ecological way of heating, biomass boilers are in most cases favored by subsidy programs.
